Tottenham make approach for different Brazilian to Savinho amid loan chance

da esoccer bet: Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has faced mounting criticism in the aftermath of their botched deal for Eberechi Eze, and talks for Man City winger Savinho haven’t exactly been plain sailing either.

da aviator aposta: Eze ultimately chose a move to boyhood club Arsenal ahead of Spurs, despite agreeing personal terms with the latter, when Mikel Arteta’s side swooped in at the last second and offered him a chance of returning to N5.

Tottenham also had a verbal agreement with Palace over the finances of a deal for Eze, but as the old saying goes – a signing is never done until all the contracts are signed.

Arsenal’s dramatic late hijack leaves Thomas Frank still without a star number 10 to replace the injured James Maddison, nor does the Dane have an heir to club legend Son Heung-min out wide.

Just under two weeks ago, Tottenham entered talks for both Eze and Savinho in separate deals, prompting huge excitement among the fanbase, but there is the possibility that Frank ends up with neither.

Eze is completely off the table, but in Savinho’s case, the north Londoners are not giving up, despite City blocking the deal as things stand.

Reports from Brazil earlier this week claimed that Tottenham are vowing to go all out for Savinho behind-the-scenes after losing out on Eze, and his agents are in London right now attempting to facilitate a deal (Globo Esporte).

Spurs could even submit a club-record £69 million bid for the Brazil international, but Pep Guardiola has previously insisted that he wants him at Eastlands for “many years” amid Levy’s interest.

Savinho is out injured right now, funnily enough, but an alternative to the 21-year-old could be Real Madrid star Rodrygo – if Spurs can’t agree a deal for the City man.

Tottenham make approach for Rodrygo amid chance of Real Madrid loan deal

Frank and Guardiola are poised to come head-to-head this weekend, and it gives club officials a chance to hold further talks over Savinho, as widely reported elsewhere.

However, City appear to be making this very difficult, and Rodrygo’s pool of suitors is running low.

The 24-year-old Brazil star, who bagged 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last season, has struggled for starts under new manager Xabi Alonso, and Defensa Central have claimed that Real could sanction a loan-to-buy deal as Tottenham take note.

Now, Mundo Deportivo, relayed by Sport Witness, have an update on the story – reporting that Tottenham are the only side to have approached Real over signing Rodrygo – and his potential exit remains a ‘live’ possibility heading into the final stretch of this summer.

Jude Bellingham called the ex-Santos star their most “underrated” and “gifted” player this year, and if a deal is there to be had, it is certainly one worth considering.

Rodrygo would be the statement signing that Tottenham are crying out for after a very testing window, and one that could seriously lift spirits around N17.

West Ham eyeing ex-Premier League gem who Guardiola called "outstanding"

da cassino online: Yet to reach a breakthrough in pursuit of Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes, West Ham United have now reportedly set their sights on signing a former Premier League alternative.

Latest on West Ham's Fernandes move

da betcris: In truth, it’s been a fairly quiet summer for West Ham. Ahead of Graham Potter’s first full season in charge, the Hammers have lost Mohammed Kudus and welcomed El Hadji Malick Diouf, Callum Wilson, Kyle Walker-Petrers and Mads Hermansen with the hefty fee that Tottenham Hotspur paid for their winger.

Even after four incomings, however, there remain question marks over whether those at the London Stadium can improve on last season’s disappointing 14th-place finish. Whether the final two weeks of the transfer window answers those questions remains to be seen too, especially given the latest update on West Ham’s chase to sign Fernandes.

After discovering Southampton’s £50m valuation, West Ham have reportedly decided against submitting an improved offer for Fernandes. The Hammers seemingly believe that their £30m offer should have been enough to secure the midfielder’s signature.

Forced to search elsewhere for midfield reinforcements, just where West Ham go from here is the big question. The likes of Harvey Elliott are still on the market and given that he is likely to struggle for minutes even more than last year following Florian Wirtz’s Liverpool arrival, a deal could certainly be there to be done.

Liverpool's HarveyElliottcelebrates

Meanwhile, West Ham have also got some talented options outside of the Premier League – including a Bundesliga talent.

West Ham eyeing Aleix Garcia

According to The Boot Room’s Graeme Bailey, West Ham are now eyeing a move to sign Aleix Garcia from Bayer Leverkusen. The Hammers could offer the Spaniard a route back into the Premier League for the first time since leaving Manchester City in 2020. Since that departure, he has featured for FC Dinamo, SD Eibar, Girona and joined Leverkusen last summer.

Now 28 years old and with plenty of experience under his belt, Garcia could prove Pep Guardiola right years on from the manager’s initial praise. The Man City boss described the midfielder as “outstanding” in 2016 before he opened the exit door for his departure.

When compared to Fernandes, it’s clear to see why Garcia is on West Ham’s radar in the event that they miss out on the Southampton star. In terms of output, both enjoyed similar seasons and both had an eye for a key pass.

What makes Garcia’s numbers all the more impressive is the fact that he played just 1,455 minutes of Bundesliga action last season. The stats suggest that with more game time, he would have outperformed Fernandes.

Nottingham Forest now in "advanced" talks to sign "exciting" £35m forward

da heads bet: Nottingham Forest are “pushing” to sign an “exciting” new forward, with talks over a deal now “advanced”, it has been revealed.

Forest set sights on new winger after missing out on Lukebakio

da fezbet: Earlier this week, it was revealed that Forest were willing to match Sevilla’s asking price for Dodi Lukebakio, with Nuno keen to add another winger to his squad before the 7pm deadline this evening, but the 27-year-old is now set to sign for Benfica.

As such, the Tricky Trees have been forced to move on to alternative options, with it being revealed that the deal for Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa is still alive, but the Frenchman is not the only option on the shortlist…

According to Sky Sports reporter Sacha Tavolieri on X, Nottingham Forest are now “pushing” to sign S.C. Braga winger Roger Fernandes, having now missed out on a deal for Lukebakio.

Talks with the Portuguese club are now at an “advanced” stage, with the Tricky Trees looking to get a deal over the line before Monday’s 7pm deadline.

Chelsea have also been named as potential suitors for Fernandes over the past few days, with the Blues reportedly weighing up whether to trigger the £35m release clause in his contract, but a move to the City Ground now looks like the most likely scenario.

Fernandes would be "exciting" Lukebakio alternative

Just 19-years-old, the Portuguese starlet has already been impressing in his home country for quite some time, with scout Jacek Kulig praising him for his performances in the 2023-24 Liga Portugal campaign.

The teenager is much younger than Lukebakio, who is 27, but he has outperformed the Belgian across a number of key attacking and defensive metrics over the course of the past year.

As such, there are clear signs the Braga ace could be a more well-rounded player than Lukebakio, and he already has a great deal of first-team experience under his belt, chipping in with 12 goals and 16 assists in 91 appearances for the Liga Portugal side.

Fernandes could be a fantastic signing for Nottingham Forest, so they should look to get a deal over the line quickly, before Chelsea decide to step up their interest.

Maresca's answer to Eze: Chelsea now "expected" to sign £25m "superstar"

da dobrowin: The mood around Chelsea is undeniably electric at the moment.

da esport bet: Enzo Maresca’s side more than made up for their opening-day stumble at home with an emphatic win away to West Ham United on Friday, and look ready for what should be a massive season in the Premier League and beyond.

The club have more than backed the manager over the last few months, and with the window open for another week, looks set to make at least a couple more additions to his squad.

In fact, if reports are to be believed, Chelsea may be closing in on an international ace who’d be their own version of Eberechi Eze.

Chelsea target their own Eberechi Eze

They haven’t been the biggest spenders in the league this summer, but Chelsea have undoubtedly made the most out of the window so far.

Transfer Focus

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

In attack, the Conference League champions have added the likes of Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, while the defence has been reinforced by the tremendously exciting Jorrel Hato.

Yet, even with all the business the West Londoners have done over the last few months, they now look set to complete another signing, someone who could be their own Eze.

At least that is according to a recent report from transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, who has reaffirmed Chelsea’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho.

More than that, the Italian journalist has revealed that the deal is now “expected” to happen before the window slams shut.

Romano does not mention how much the Manchester United ace might cost, but according to stories from earlier this month, the Blues could try to secure his services for around £25m.

Even if the final fee ends up being higher, Garnacho is worth signing for Chelsea, especially as he could be their own Eze.

Why Garnacho could be Chelsea's Eze

So the first thing to clear up is that no, we are not claiming Garnacho is currently on the same level as Eze.

Manchester United's AlejandroGarnachoduring training

That would be patently untrue and quite unfair to the United ace, as he’s still just 21 years old.

However, there are several similarities between the two, including their transfers.

For example, if the Argentine international does end up joining Maresca’s blue revolution this summer, then he’d be following the Englishman in joining not just a ‘big six’ side, but one based in London that will be looking to challenge for the Premier League this season.

Away from the deal, another key characteristic the Madrid-born ace shares with the former Crystal Palace star is his ability to play in attacking midfield or out on the left wing.

More than that, he’s also as much of a goal threat as he is a creator.

For example, the “superstar” in the making, as dubbed by journalist Liam Canning, was able to score 11 goals and provide ten assists in 58 appearances, totalling 3568 minutes.

That means he was able to average a goal involvement every 2.76 games, or 169.90 minutes, which is made all the more impressive considering he was playing in a historically terrible United side.

Finally, just as Eze has the ability to pull off the magnificent, so can Garnacho, with his Puskas winning goal against Everton a couple of years ago, the perfect example of this.

Ultimately, it may take some time for the United ace to reach the levels of the new Arsenal star, but the similarities between them are undeniable.

Therefore, Chelsea should do what they can to secure his services as soon as possible.

Better than Igor: West Ham make last-gasp approach to sign "incredible" CB

da doce: West Ham United have endured somewhat of a dilemma at centre-back in recent days, with Graham Potter yet to have an established partnership at the heart of his defence.

da mrbet: Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos started the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday – subsequently keeping their first clean sheet of the new Premier League season.

However, Nayef Aguerd looks set to depart the Hammers after refusing to travel with the squad for the trip to the East Midlands – with Marseille expected to land the Moroccan before the transfer deadline.

As a result, the manager and the hierarchy have been tirelessly targeting other options in the market to try and bolster the depth in such a department.

Numerous names have been mentioned throughout deadline day, with multiple players being frequently mentioned over a switch to the London Stadium.

West Ham’s hunt for a centre-back on deadline day

Earlier today, Braga star Bright Arrey-Mbi was seen as a viable option for West Ham – with a deal seemingly heading in the right direction before the 7pm deadline.

However, a deal has since gone quiet, which has seen the Hammers’ hierarchy pursue moves for various other targets – mainly in the Premier League.

Germany's BrightArrey-Mbilooks dejected after the match

The latest name mentioned is Chelsea’s Axel Disasi, with the Frenchman currently not part of Enzo Maresca’s first-team plans for the 2025/26 campaign.

It’s been reported by journalist Fabrice Hawkins that Potter’s side have made a late approach to the Blues to try and sign the 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa.

It’s unclear if the deal is a permanent or temporary one, but the Hammers are making a last-ditch attempt to secure his signature before the window slams shut.

Why West Ham’s latest is better than Igor

Deadline day always springs up a surprise or two, with this year’s instalment being no different – with West Ham being involved in a saga to land Brighton star Igor Julio.

Brighton& Hove Albion'sIgorJulio during the warm up before the match

The Brazilian centre-back has been allowed to depart by manager Fabian Hürzeler, after dropping down the pecking order in recent months at the AMEX.

He looked set to complete a loan move to Crystal Palace, but Oliver Glasner’s side pulled the plug on the transfer – resulting in Potter’s men taking advantage in recent hours.

It’s been reported that the 27-year-old has since travelled to East London to complete a move to join the Irons – but the hierarchy face a race against time to complete the transfer.

However, despite the move for the Brazilian, they could still complete a transfer for Disasi in the closing stages of the window – further adding needed depth to the backline.

Disasi

When comparing their respective stats from the Premier League last season, the Chelsea man managed to outperform him in key areas – subsequently making him a better addition for Potter and Co.

Disasi, who’s been dubbed “incredible” by one content creator, managed to win more tackles and came out on top in more aerial battles – offering a needed defensive presence given the Hammers’ tally of eight goals conceded in three league games.

His dominance over Igor defensively is further highlighted in his tally of clearances and interceptions made per 90 – further handing Frank the added quality he craves at the back.

In possession, the Frenchman has been just as impressive, completing more progressive carries per 90 – arguably being a great ball-playing option should the side want to play out from the back.

While both players could make the move to the London Stadium, it’s clear that Disasi would provide the side with the added quality they desperately crave in the defensive third.

The signings could play a huge part in the club’s future in the Premier League, with Potter’s side desperately needing to build on their recent triumph at the City Ground.

Tottenham ready to let £100k-p/w star leave on loan after Frank decision

da leao: Tottenham Hotspur could allow one senior player to leave on loan whilst a host of transfer windows remain open across the globe, with the man in question failing to impress new manager Thomas Frank since the Dane’s arrival.

The Lilywhites have a London derby against West Ham this weekend and two Champions League games before the next international break in October, with Frank currently sweating on the fitness of Dominic Solanke after was ruled out of their Bournemouth defeat with an ankle problem.

Some reports worryingly claimed that Solanke’s injury was much more serious than initially feared and could require surgery, but this is yet to be confirmed, and Frank was hopeful in his last update that the striker could return against West Ham this weekend.

Away from Solanke, and in a big boost for Frank, defender Radu Dragusin was spotted in first-team training this week for the first time in months, so it may not be long before the Romanian is eligible for selection once again.

James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski will be out for some time yet, while summer signing Kota Takai was also left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad with the aforementioned duo — though it is unclear whether this was solely down to the Japanese’s injury.

Another player who failed to make Frank’s 22-man European A-list is midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma

The Mali international has been repeatedly linked with a move away from N17 after falling out of favour with Frank, and there are opportunities abroad to sell Bissouma as Turkish, Portuguese, Mexican and Saudi Arabian transfer windows remain open.

The £100,000-per-week midfielder is yet to make a single competitive appearance under Spurs’ new coach this season, partly down to injury, with journalist Pete O’Rourke reporting that he hasn’t made the best impression under Frank.

Tottenham could let Yves Bissouma leave on loan

Now, in a further update, Spurs’ eagerness to rid themselves of Bissouma means that the north Londoners’ restructured board, minus the now-departed Daniel Levy, could green-light a temporary deal for the 29-year-old.

Tottenham could now let Bissouma depart on loan, despite wanting to sell him permanently, but they’ll need to hurry and find suitors, as the Turkish and Mexican windows close this Friday.

Süper Lig clubs were heavily linked with a move for Bissouma in the summer, and it is believed that a Fenerbahçe representative even travelled to London for talks over signing the former Brighton star.

There is still some time left for the likes of Fenerbahçe to strike a deal for Bissouma, and this latest update points towards the possibility of a potential zero-cost transfer.

However, given the player’s contract expires in 2026, it is unclear to see how this would benefit Tottenham in the long run.

Ex-Tottenham prospect emerging as favourite to replace Potter at West Ham

da wazamba: West Ham United boss Graham Potter is walking on increasingly thin ice after a lacklustre start to the campaign, with pressure on the tactician at an all-time high after their London derby defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.

da apostaganha: Potter’s side put in an impressive performance away to Nottingham Forest just prior to the international break, winning 3-0 at the City Ground courtesy of goals from Lucas Paqueta, Callum Wilson and Jarrod Bowen, but were on the receiving end of the same scoreline against Spurs.

Pape Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and Micky van de Ven rounded off a routine win for Thomas Frank’s men at the London Stadium, whilst piling the misery on Potter, who has recorded the second-worst win percentage of any West Ham manager in Premier League history.

Since the former Chelsea and Brighton boss was appointed on January 9, West Ham also have the worst top flight record of any Premier League side outside Leicester City, Southampton and Ipswich Town — who were all relegated last term.

They’ve also conceded 11 goals already, the highest number of any West Ham side at this stage of a Premier League season since Avram Grant’s Hammers were relegated in 2011.

West Ham United managerGrahamPotterbefore the match

The numbers make for extremely grim reading, and reports suggest that West Ham are internally discussing replacements for the under-fire Potter.

Nuno Espirito Santo is allegedly being considered by West Ham and chairman David Sullivan is a fan of the Portuguese, according to journalist Alan Nixon, with the ex-Wolves and Tottenham boss readily available after leaving Forest.

It is also claimed that West Ham have approached Coventry City boss and ex-player Frank Lampard, who has resurrected his managerial career in the West Midlands and came close to promotion from the Championship last season.

Even serial winner Jose Mourinho has been linked with a move to east London after departing Fenerbache, but this trio of intriguing names have now been joined by Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna on West Ham’s managerial target list.

Kieran McKenna emerging as frontrunner for West Ham job

That is according to journalist Wayne Veysey and Football Insider, who report speculation is mounting that McKenna is emerging in pole position for the West Ham job after a development.

Veysey writes that McKenna was a surprise guest in the West Ham boardroom during their 3-0 loss to Spurs after being invited to attend.

It is unclear right now what the 39-year-old’s stance is on leaving Portman Road for the English capital, but there is reason for West Ham to consider him as an option.

Why Kieran McKenna could be a good appointment for West Ham

Ipswich’s boss guided them to back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League, before they were unfortunately relegated last campaign, and reports suggest that McKenna was actually a top Chelsea target to replace Mauricio Pochettino before they hired Enzo Maresca.

MauricioPochettinocoach of U.S. during the match

The coach, who once played for Tottenham reserves and the Lilywhites youth teams before hanging up his boots due to a hip injury, is regarded as one of England’s most promising young managers.

It’s been a slow start to 25/26 for the Tractor Boys, who’ve just recorded their first win of the Championship season with a 5-0 win over Sheffield United, and McKenna may well be tempted by the prospect of an immediate switch back to the top flight.

He’s also coached Man United and Spurs at junior level, with Liverpool legend John Barnes calling him a “sensational” tactician.

Not just Tel: Spurs dud now looks totally finished under Thomas Frank

da pinnacle: Tottenham Hotspur have entered a new phase in recent months after Thomas Frank took the reins following Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

da bet vitoria: The Aussie ended his spell in North London on a high after winning the Europa League, but it was their lowly Premier League finish which brought his time at the club to an end.

Such a responsibility now falls to the Dane, with the 51-year-old tasked with building on their recent European success and making the side a force to be reckoned with.

Tottenham Hotspur managerThomasFrankcelebrates after the match

The board handed the new boss over £100m to make the additions he craved during the summer, subsequently strengthening various areas of his first-team squad.

However, one summer signing in the form of Mathys Tel could also be heading for the exit door – after the latest development coming out of the Lilywhites camp.

Mathys Tel’s current situation at Spurs

After spending the second half of last season on loan at Spurs, the hierarchy decided to make Tel’s transfer permanent – costing around £30m from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

At just 20 years of age, the Frenchman was undoubtedly brought in as an immediate and long-term option for Frank in the club’s attempt for future success.

However, it’s unclear how much of a part he will play during the 51-year-old’s tenure after the winger was left out of the club’s 25-man squad for this season’s Champions League.

Upon his move to join the Lilywhites, not many people would’ve anticipated that he would be left out of the squad – especially considering his record of two goals in such a competition for Bayern.

The likes of Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson and new addition Mohammed Kudus were all selected ahead of him – prompting questions to be asked around his long-term future under Frank.

Tel himself spoke to the media in recent days, subsequently downplaying a move away, but there is no doubt he there will be a strong sense of disappointment felt by the youngster in the months ahead.

However, he may not be the only player to leave North London in the near future, with another first-team member also failing to make the desired impact since Frank’s appointment.

The Spurs player who could be finished alongside Tel

During the first three Premier League outings of the Frank reign, it’s clear to see the manager is capable of switching up his system – either able to use a back four or back five when needed.

The Lilywhites have won two of their first three outings, beating Burnley and Manchester City, before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on home soil before the international break.

His appointment has allowed Richarlison to flourish, with the Brazilian netting two goals and an assist in his three starts – resurrecting his career at the club after falling down Postecoglou’s pecking order during the Aussie’s two years at the helm.

The same can’t be said for centre-back Ben Davies, with the Welshman being an unused substitute in all the league games to date, along with the Super Cup final defeat to Champions League winners PSG.

The 32-year-old made 28 appearances across all competitions throughout 2024/25, but it’s clear that minutes will be harder to come by in the near future.

Cristian Romero is already ahead of the former Swansea City star in the pecking order, forming an excellent partnership with Micky van de Ven at the heart of the backline.

The former of the duo was also named as the club’s new captain, further reducing the amount of game time Davies may receive during Frank’s spell at the club.

When called upon in recent times, his performances have also left a lot to be desired, leading to John Wenham labelling the centre-back as “terrible” in the defeat against Wolves a couple of years ago.

Given his age, he’s certainly ending the back end of his professional career, handing another reason for the hierarchy to cut loose and allow young talents to stake their claim.

Davies also earns a pretty penny, currently pocketing a steep £80k-per-week in North London – potentially saving a whopping £4.2m a year if he were to depart the Lilywhites.

There’s no denying the Welshman has been a tremendous servant, making over 350 appearances for the club after joining from Swansea back in the summer of 2014.

It may be a harsh decision to move Davies on, but ultimately, if Frank is to make the side into serial winners, brutal decisions will need to be made to enable further progression on the pitch.
